The New Corporate World Order

"We can't solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them." Einstein

Robert Scheer's column over at truthdig.com is well worth a read. What he has to say is every bit as relevant to Canada as the US, for we have been traveling the same road to ruin as they have with sadly similar results

"Those tax breaks over the past decade, leaving some corporations such as General Electric to pay no taxes at all, were supposed to lead to job creation, but just the opposite has occurred."

With the Harper Conservatives being the only party still clinging to this failed mantra of tax cuts for corporations and the rich creating jobs, we have for the first time in quite a while, a very clear choice in this election. Do we continue down this road to ruin or do we say enough of this insane nonsense and vote for a new future, one where the tax burden is shared equitably. One where everyone benefits from the riches this land has to offer.

  1. hi Kev...because nobody challenged the Con mantra that raising corporate taxes would kill jobs, Stephen Harper has been allowed to get away with murder, and could win a majority. The price of ignorance is hard to quantify, but as the credit card ad says it's PRICELESS...

  2. Hi,Simon The corporate media's ignoring of the lack of correlation between their tax breaks and job creation is unsurprising. What was is that for a brief moment pre-writ they allowed some minor questioning of their mantra, however once the writ was dropped they quickly returned to their standard election fare of polls and nothin' but polls
