No laughing matter

We've all had a good laugh at Kenney's Kijiji debacle but truth be told it is anything but funny.

It is but another piece in Harpers plan to deny us the information we need to make informed judgements on the state of Canadian society and of course Harper's and his party's performance.

From killing the long form census, the muzzling of bureaucrats and scientists, De-funding women's groups and NGOs like Kairos closing down scientific research such as the Experimental Lakes Area and handing over the NRC to private interests. Harper has waged a campaign on information.

Knowledge is power and no one knows this better than Harper. This is why he has decided that any information he can't control must either be destroyed or muddied to the point of uselessness.

Sadly he has been so effective at this that we will suffer it's consequences long after he has exited the scene.

Suddenly I'm not in the mood for laughter an more.
