Stick It Where The Sun Don't Shine

Ontario's annual sunshine list is out and as usual we hear the chorus of What? They made how much? Which is the very purpose these lists exist for in the first place.

Mike Harris created the list to serve his agenda of attacking public sector workers and in fact all workers in general, Kathleen Wynne who once mused about at least indexing the list has come around to like Harris seeing it as a valuable tool in  serving an agenda.

The media has embraced the list as fodder for easy traffic driving screeds against greedy workers. The public struggling to make ends meet due to the wage suppression agenda of the very people who created the sunshine list and continue to exploit it, buy into this meme.

In the process cheering on their oppressors.

People who should be fighting for a fairer wage for themselves and everyone else instead call for others to be paid less, which in turn strengthens the trend to lower wages in general.

This is nothing short of insanity.

Wank tanks like the Fraser, with a huge assist from the media, have done a masterful job
of framing anyone who makes a decent wage as greedy which ties in nicely with the aims of this list

Yes we should know what public sector workers make, accountability depends on it particularly where it pertains to those in upper management but for most public sector workers I only need their base salary or hourly rate to determine value.

I have no need to know that TTC operator X made Y

But in the end whether we keep the list as is, index it, or get rid of it altogether our reaction to its revelations must change from "those greedy bastards" to That's great everyone should be fortunate enough to make a decent wage .

One that allows us to feed, house, clothe and educate our children without drowning in debt to do so.

For the life of me I could never figure that one out, but yes insanity might be the explanation, either that or dumber than a fence post.
