This past week we have been witness to an all out assault by the Harper Conservatives on Canada's veterans, so one could reasonably expect their champion to speak out for them, especially on Armed Forces night on the national broadcast of Coaches Corner.
Well you'd be wrong, Donald S. Cherry while professing his love of the troops ad nauseum, often tearfully so has a greater allegiance than that of the troops and veterans, Conservatism is all it's forms.
So you see Cherry's support the troops mantra is strategic in the same way his conservative pals see it, support only as a marketing tool but never when they truly need a champion.
Some may say he merely wished to keep politics out of it, well that hasn't stopped him from using the troops to attack non Conservatives.
So in the end Donald S. Cherry is a true blue Conservative and no true friend to our veterans.
