A Cynical and Dangerous Game part ll

I wrote a couple years ago in relation to Conservative tactics that creating enemies at home and abroad as a distraction is one of the oldest tricks in the book, enter the Temporary Foreign Workers Program

In the TFWP the Conservatives have found the perfect vehicle,  not only does it serve their corporative economic agenda as it suppress wages and creates two pools of desperate workers, those within the program and those displaced by it. The added bonus is that it also creates the perfect us against them scenario.

We must not fall into this trap, the only way we as workers can even hope to turn things around in our favour is to think and act globally for you see "they" are us. Corporations and those pols that serve them have made borders irrelevant or as I like to say this shit is global.

This corporate agenda relies on pitting worker against worker, union vs nonunion, public sector vs private, "foreign" vs domestic etc. We defeat them not by playing the hatred game the neo-liberals wish us to but by realizing  that whether in China, Bangladesh, Mexico, Canada the US, or EU,we are all in the same boat .

We either join hands in solidarity or we will continue to lose ground and the suffering will continue. To that end we must focus on the unfairness of the TFWP to all working people and on the politicians and their corporate masters that would pit one against the other to further their Dickensian agenda.
