From the equality of rights springs identity of our highest interests; you cannot subvert your neighbor's rights without striking a dangerous blow at your own. Carl Schurz

A half-pregnant pause

It seems the new government is intent on keeping it's promise to end Canada's participation in the IS bombing mission, that's a good thing. A kept promise is usually so.

But does it accomplish what most hope it does, that is absolve Canada of the consequences of the fallout from the bombing of civilian populations.

Does grounding ones jets yet continuing to participate in other aspects of the mission, to continue to remain a member of the coalition dropping those bombs, truly absolve us of any responsibility?

In a drive by shooting is the person who drives the car any less guilty than the person who pulled the trigger, of course not and neither will we be as long as we participate in this mission in any way.

Bombing campaigns have proven lately only to create the instability organisations like IS need to thrive, indeed they exist almost solely because of Western interventions that have destabilized the entire region.

To continue on this path is insanity and only serves the interests of a few over the needs of the many
