Joe Fiorito Champion of the Forgotten

I am usually filled with nothing but scorn for those who ply their trade in the corporate media, there are however a few exceptions Carol Goar and Antonia Zerbisias have long been favourites of mine.

Joe Fiorito first showed up on my radar screen for his defense of the neighborhood in which I grew up,Parkdale. But it is his current series of articles on the people most effected by Fords cuts to the TTC that has earned my respect. Too seldom do we hear the stories of the poor, the elderly, the infirm and the disabled of this city. The people who struggle to lead fulfilling lives in spite of all the obstacles that we throw in their path lest it cost us something, be it monetary or just mere inconvenience.

So I say three cheers for Joe and rousing round of applause for those whose daily struggle show us that courage comes in many different packages.
