Why "Get a Job" is Hate Speech

Make no mistake about it when people such as Doug Ford spit out those three words, they do so out of hate. To them, those who live in poverty or advocate a different world view to their own are only worthy of contempt and scorn.

Hate speech -   b) type of speech which is used to deliberately offend an individual; or racial, ethnic, religious or other group. Such speech generally seeks to condemn or dehumanize the individual or group; or express anger, hatred, violence or contempt toward them.

They hate the poor because they have absolutely no understanding of what it is like to have nothing.The Fords of this world believe that after all they got to where they are through hard work and hard work alone,and that is all anyone else has to do to succeed, so it follows that if you are poor it is only because you are lazy and want to steal their hard earned money.They give no thought to the obvious advantages that they enjoyed on the way up. Advantages such as a successful family business to inherit, being able to afford a post secondary education,a debt free one at that, plenty of food on the table ( and no that is not a fat joke) and a safe environment in which to grow up.

As for those who choose to advocate a different type of society than the one we have today, people like Doug Ford see them a threat to the very system that has allowed them to thrive so well. You see they view the world only as it pertains to them and anything that threatens their world has to by definition be evil and must be destroyed. So they lash out in anger and hate seeking to debase and dehumanize the enemy and yes to cause harm to them as well, for what do you call allowing anyone, especially children to go hungry in a world of plenty, but an act of violence.
