Time To Speak Up On Choice

Conservative MP Stephen Woodworth is trying his darnedest these days to see womens right to choose curtailed, even entirely overturned if he had his way. While the Cons would like us to see Woodworth as a rouge MP with no party support, the reality is there is no such thing in Harper's party.Nothing happens without his consent, certainly not with an issue as important as this one. So be sure this is a serious threat.

The Conservatives are also counting on us making the same mistake our neighbors to the south made and that is to believe there is no real threat to the right to choose. We will be sorely mistaken if we make that choice, one look to the situation in the States tells us that path only leads to defeat. We must speak up forcefully now before the Woodworths among us have time to let their propaganda campaign ferment and possibly gain some traction.

We have everything to gain by acting now and everything to lose by ignoring this threat in the belief that it can't possibly happen here, which is just what our American cousins said and we all know how that is working out.

  1. Thanks for this, Kev.

My friends in the US are really hot to encourage us to stop this assault on women's rights in its tracks. They have such an extreme uphill battle that they know what happens if you let any group get a toe in on this front.
