A Birthday Wish

As we suffer through what undoubtedly in the future will be referred to as the Canada's darkest days perhaps it's worthwhile to look ahead to the Canada we want.

For me that would be a Canada where:
  • We take care of one another
  • We have a truly universal publicly funded healthcare system
  • We enjoy a Basic Livable Income so no one has to go hungry or homeless
  • We see an electoral system that gives us a government that reflects the views of all Canadians
  • Every child is entitled to a publicly funded debt free post secondary education
  • The environment  is put ahead of profit
  • We build schools and tear down prisons
  • We feed the hungry of this world instead of dropping bombs on them
But most of all I want a Canada without Stephen Harper and his disciples

Happy Canada Day

  1. Happy Canada Day, Kev. Here's to creating the Canada we wish to live in, especially that last bit.

  2. Happy Canada Day Laura, Hopefully with a collective effort we can blow out all the candles and make that wish come true
